Scherhant came of age in Berlin’s football scene, playing for Viktoria Berlin, Tennis Borussia and Berliner SC before joining Hertha’s academy shortly before his 18th birthday. He soon made up for lost time, contributing 16 goals and eight assists in his first season with the reserves, which earned him a professional contract in June 2022. A full Bundesliga debut against Eintracht Frankfurt would follow that August.

Tras el descenso del Hertha en 2023, el atacante se consolidó como titular en la 2. Bundesliga. Jugó los 34 partidos de la temporada 2024/25, anotó siete goles y, en verano de 2025, el Freiburg lo reincorporó a la primera división. Abandonó la capital con 78 partidos oficiales y 12 tantos.
En su primera campaña en la Selva Negra sumó cinco goles en 31 encuentros de liga, además de 12 partidos en la Europa League durante la carrera del Freiburg a la final. La campaña 2026/27 ha empezado con un gol y tres asistencias en cuatro partidos, aportando diez puntos de los doce posibles.
Su última actuación confirmó su calidad: dos días después de ser llamado por Alemania, marcó y asistió el empate de Yuito Suzuki en el 2‑2 frente al Frankfurt a mediados de septiembre.
